Rashida Jones was born on February 25, 1976, in Los Angeles, California. She is an American actress, writer, and producer. In the 1990s, she attended Harvard University and graduated in 1997 with a degree in Religion and Philosophy. During this time, she became interested in acting and began performing in theater productions.
Jones made her on-screen debut in the early 2000s, but in the late 1990s, she worked as a production assistant and intern at various television shows and films. Her notable roles in the 2000s include Karen Filippelli in the American version of The Office and Ann Perkins in the sitcom Parks and Recreation.
Jones also wrote and produced several projects in the 2010s, including the Netflix documentary Quincy about her father composer and record producer Quincy Jones. She has won several awards for her work in the entertainment industry, including a Screen Actors Guild Award and a NAACP Image Award.
